Donating Instead of Gifting: A Great Idea!

This year, instead of giving each other things we no longer need or want, my family has decided to donate to causes we believe in.

This holiday season, I've donated to:

The American Brain Foundation

The Reporter's Committee for Freedom of the Press

Hope's Legacy Equine Rescue

Good causes, every one of them. And a huge thank you to those who have purchased my art so I could donate to Hopes Legacy Equine Rescue. It's nice to feel optimistic again about the world.

These award-winning horse images are from the series by C. Twomey, renowned internationally recognized illustrator featuring accurate and beautifully executed images that will bring joy to every recipient.

"Commissioned for the cover of the "United States Dressage Federation" magazine Connections, it was inspired by "The Vitruvian Man" by Leaonardo da Vinci circa 1487. This could be considered the "Canon of Proportions" for the horse performing the dressage movement piaffe. It is based on the correlations of ideal horse proportions with geometry. It exemplifies the blend of art and science during the Renaissance.

Winning painting/illustration of the American Horse Publications Annual Awards, First Place in Illustration for "Da Vinci Horse", 2007. This print shows an anatomically accurate transparent horse and skeleton."

"Walk, Trot, Canter: The Horse's Gaits Revealed" on offer by C. Twomey

Here is the combination of three gaits on one piece of artwork in the series "Walk, Trot and Canter" that I recently completed while moving across the country from California to Vermont:

equine print by C. Twomey
WTC: Walk, Trot, Canter - The Horse's Gaits Revealed by C. Twomey, 2016

Also included are the typical footfalls of the gaits, and each has a symbolic reference to the evenness and symmetry of the gait.

For years I have been studying and drawing horses out of a love for their beauty, intelligence and grace. I recently completed a series of Walk, Trot and Canter, which are offered individually and combined. Having a strong art and medical background, my goal was to combine the aesthetics of the gait along with the most accurate interpretation of the skeleton I could find. It was very interesting to find errors in classical references, and correct them here. My great admiration for the style and clarity of Leonardo daVinci's work is reflected in my chosen style. I wanted to convey the lightness, collection and beauty of what it is to ride a canter.

Please visit Here Saatchi to view all of the gaits: walk, trot, and canter. In addition, they're currently being offered right Here Fine Art America.
