"Milkpod Bursts" Auction, Twomey Oil Painting

Oil painting by Catherine Twomey
"MilkPod Bursts" by C. Twomey, 8 X 10" oil on linen board

Auction currently in progress at Daily Paintworks.
One of those unforgettable, golden days of fall in Vermont; or everywhere. At the end of the garden, in front of a field of grasses was a proud milk pod. It had just released it's seed treasure and the backdrop of the gorgeous trees was irresistible. It was a still, warm, sunny day and I was able to paint for hours to capture the details. There was a light mist over the distance mountains and the trees were at their peak. This is almost a still life combined with a landscape that serves as a document of time standing still.

Thank you for your interest!

"Vermont Back Forty" Auction, C. Twomey

oil painting by Catherine Twomey
"Vermont Back Forty" by C. Twomey, 5 X 7" oil
Visit dailypaintworks.com to place a bid for this original art at a very affordable price.

I was in the Rochester, Vermont area in the fall of 2016, staying at my brother's house. We trekked cross country from Danville, CA and needed a respite. A respite it was, as I was able to paint outside in the peace and quiet, staring at this gorgeous view in the warmth of August and September. This oil is on archival linen board. It is 5 X 7", signed and varnished with care.

A Central Vermont Fall

It's incredibly beautiful here at the moment. Spent a day up in Stowe, Vermont on Saturday and saw some lovely landscapes:

Moxie in the Maples; Vermont

Moxie in the Maples, Vermont
That's my wonderful, spoiled dog Moxie in the lower left, galavanting through the turning maple leaves in Rochester, Vermont. Thinking of doing a painting of this, as I like how the shadows and slope appear. Every day brings a new round of color and peace.

Sawmill Road Autumn Oil Painting

Just about to call this painting finished. A lovely walk along this gorgeous Vermont road wouldn't leave my mind, so out came the paints. There's a certain abstraction coming out in my work now that I'm finally allowing to remain. 8 X 10", NFS.
